Welcome to Gate Number One

As gate number One slowly opens, you may take a few steps inside and see the old brick houses lined up alone both sides of the narrow road. Touch the bricks and realize that the black ashes have been carved deeply into the bricks DNA.

LeyaBina

LeyaBina yearned for an education. She watched every morning as the kids in her neighborhood rushed to school with their freshly washed uniform and bag full of books. She wished to be one of them , but her school was in One Hundred Gates. Her school was a room located deep within One Hundred Gates. The room was filled with very few girls ranging from age six to sixteen. She didn't learn much in there, but she swallowed every word with eagerness. It was not every day that she had the pleasure of school. Mother needed her help at home, and she obeyed longing for an education.

  1. Hello. :)

    First off, excellent post.

But you did ask for brutal honesty and advice, so here it is:

    1) Spruce up your blog! Lots of tips and tricks can be found at bloggerbuster.com. It's where I learned how to customize mine. The more unique you are, the more you'll stand out.

    2) Start building a small following by following/commenting other blogs with similar intrests as yours. Also, if you can befriend other new bloggers, you'll never regret the relationship. :)

    3) Introduce yourself. Readers like to know who's talking to them. Let us know a bit about who you are.

Overall though, great start! And thank you so much for your kind email. I hear a lot that people think I'm older...I always take it as a very high compliment. ;) Hope to see you around the blogosphere!

    Best wishes,
    Carrie.

PS -- Nothing brutal to say. ;)
